Hey all!!!

Sorry I have been gone for so long. Things have been crazy around here.

My daughter had her first dance recital….which was awesome. I was so proud of her (I even cried).

We have finished homeschool, so we have been trying to find a new summer routine that works for us. If it was up to them, they would just play video games all day

Then there have been the fires here in AZ. While none of them were too close to us, there was one that was a bit to close for comfort to our place up north. So we had to go up there to check everything out and wait out the fire and see what would happen. (Nothing so far…it is still going, but they have it pretty well contained)

But enough of my excuses.

I will be back tomorrow will an incredible recipe.  (my husband made me make these things three times in a row and snuck them on the this next meals rotation….sneaky boy

A few things I thought I would share with you. Things I thought I would never say or do….that is until I had kids….

In no particular order…

1) “Don’t put that in the dogs ear!”

2) “Don’t eat that!”

3) Plant “sandwich seeds” (seeds my daughter saved off her sandwich bun)

4) Preform surgery on a Zhu Zhu pet.

5) Race to the store in the middle of the night to replace a fish that died. (That I killed)

6)”The dog is not a horse”

7) Stay up late surfing the Internet, trying to find a particular lego set (or toy in general).

8)”If you don’t eat your food, you get to watch me eat your dessert”….mean I know but there is a back story to it Ill tell you one day.

9)Watch a Spongbob Marathon and actually enjoy myself

10) Watch the clock on Friday (ok everyday) for wine time.

Here is another fabulous question….

Q: How did you start your research on Homeschooling Programs and how did you organize your day to fit school in on top of…everything else?

A: Good one. I did a ton of research on-line (mainly just goggling homeschool programs) and narrowed it down. I requested a ton of info. Once I got it all in I just looked at what they offered. We do not go to church, so it helped to choose programs that didn’t have any religious connections. Then we looked at price. There are some pretty pricey ones out there. Ultimately the one we picked (Calvert) just felt right and it offered a program (for a additional fee) where you send in the test and someone else grades them….so I wasn’t the bad guy……all the time . In the program they included the text books, paper, answer keys (thank god), even crayons. Everything you could need (except for a few items for science).

As far as fitting everything in….we just do it. We know what has to be done and really some how just make it work. The program we picked works so well for us because they give you a manual that really lays it all out for you. Each day is laid out; it pretty much tells you what to say and how. Obviously it can be adjusted to the family.

Q: How do you find the time to cook/blog/take care of kids/talk to husband/clean the house?

A: Liquor…..just kidding (kinda). Because I am homeschooling my kids we incorporate a lot of the cooking into school. While they are doing their work, I get stuff ready (pre-heat, pre-measure) and we finish together.

The hubs works durning the day, so when he gets home we say hello and I get started on dinner and he spends time with the munchkins. Then we eat, bathe, read and bed (for them). Then it is our time…bow chick wow wow…just kidding we aren’t that cool. We watch our fav. TV shows then off to bed.

I try to keep up on bloging surgically throughout the day. When ever I have time. I don’t get much sleep. Late to bed early to rise.

As far as house cleaning……yea, that is a different story. During the week, my house is a complete disaster; and it drives me crazy. I am a neat freak. (and this is where my lovely sister says….no just a freak…love you ) I really try to SCRUB my house top to bottom during the weekend.

That is about it. And sad thing is that is literally my day…..my life.

Although it has been a long, hard school year for us, (this was our first year homeschooling) I wouldn’t change a thing.

They learned a lot. And I learned a lot…..of patients .

I am so proud of my munchkins.

Way to go guys!!!!

I know, I know its not morning.

Because I have been having trouble sleeping, and rather than toss and turn in my bed (and get mad Im not asleep). I decided to get up and join the world.

Today was a bit earlier than I would like, 5:00 am…yes AM. But what the heck…..right…just a few more cups of coffee and my body wont know the difference, right?

This is one of the perks of waking up so early. I went to let the dog out (he even gave me a weird look) and saw this out my back porch.

I have finally done it.

The reason behind me not having one……I barely know what I am doing here.

The whole Twitter world frightens me (a lot actually frightens me, but that is another post). I have absolutely no clue what I am doing.

Both my daughter and I watched THE wedding this AM.

There was no way I (or she) could stay up all night, so we recorded it.

My little princess was so excited to see a real live princess get married. She (my princess) woke up early, got her fancy clothes and jewelry on. Did her make up and hair and was ready to watch.

Me….I just watched in my PJs.

We both agreed that it was the most beautiful, classy weddings ever. Both Princess’ looked incredible.
